Reflexology
Today’s issues in work communities are coping, sick leaves and acceleration of work pace. Reflexology is a successful treatment for headaches, tension necks and shoulders, muscular tensions, insomnia and exhaustion.
Reflexology (zone therapy) is an alternative medicine method involving the practice of massaging or applying pressure to parts of the feet, or sometimes the hands and ears, with the goal of encouraging a beneficial effect on other parts of the body, or to improve general health.
This treatment is based on a thousands of years old method used around the globe, e.g. North and South America, China, India and Egypt. Reflexology is preventive as well as a cure for many symptoms in the body, such as tension pains, stress symptoms, fatigue, insomnia, headaches, migraine, sinus problems, colic, menopause, indigestion, etc.
A natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears and their referral areas within zone related areas, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes without the use of tools, crèmes or lotions, the feet being the primary area of application, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the natural function of the related areas of the body. The reflexologist is merely giving an impulse for the system to heal its vital function thru the autonomous nervous system.
Lympf Therapy
Lympf therapy is a mellow and painless treatment method for puffiness and swelling, developed by the Danish Emil and Estrid Vodder. Edema can be caused by strained fluid retention or the systems reduced capability to process lympf.
Lymph capillaries or lymphatic capillaries are tiny thin-walled vessels that are closed at one end and are located in the spaces between cells throughout the body, except in the central nervous system, and in non-vascular tissues. The main purpose of these vessels is to drain excess tissue fluids from around the cell ready to be filtered and returned to the venous circulation. This tissue fluid upon entering the lumen (elongated cavity of a tubular structure) is known as the lymph.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is used to concentrate on the secondary circulatory system, the Lymphatic's. This treatment encourages waste and toxin removal and aids the immune system to create antibodies reducing the likelihood of fatigue, swelling and disease. The lymphatic pump is a method of manipulation used by osteopathic physicians to increase the rate of lymph flow in order to help fight infection.
Massage is carried out slowly, softly and rhythmically, according to the natural flow of the lympf thus decreasing the pressure in tissue fluids and invigorating the secretory organs, which sometimes increases the need to urinate and causes perspiration thus cleansing the body and reducing pain.
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the treatment or prevention of disease and a natural release for PMS, menopause symptoms, insomnia, tension and all kind of repression. Aromatherapy is carried out as individual, soft, deep impact body massage, with 100 % natural essential oils especially chosen for the person being treated. Aromatherapy as a preventive means of treatment is invigorating and mind soothing, it contributes to psychofysical wellbeing, good health and maintaining the ability to work.
Acupressure
Acupressure (a blend of "acupuncture" and "pressure") is a complementary medicine technique derived from acupuncture. In acupressure physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points by the hand, elbow, usually with the thumb, with pressure and rolling.
According to the principles of TCM, qi flows through the body via 14 primary meridians or channels. To strengthen the flow of qi,or remove blockages in the meridians, an acupuncturist inserts a number of tiny, sterile, flexible needles just under the skin at certain specific points (called acupoints) along the channels. There are four to five hundred named acupoints along the meridians, some of which are associated with specific internal organs or organ systems. If you are suffering from nausea, for example, needles might be inserted into acupoints on your wrist, while a vision problem might be treated with needles in the foot. (Additional ear, scalp, and hand points are also commonly used by some practitioners.) Acupuncture practitioners believe that the therapy stimulates the body’s internal regulatory system and nurtures a natural healing response.
A variant system known as two point acupressure attempts to bypass a blockage of vital flow by using one acupoint to create a link with one of the collateral meridians, and then using one additional acupoint to stimulate or reduce the flow around the obstruction.
